The Gold Standard of Podcast Tutorials
“Michael Murphy is extraordinarily articulate when sharing his knowledge of InDesign. He was probably an excellent teacher in another life. His delivery is brisk, partly in consideration of bandwith size, so there are no dull moments…only sound advice couched in expertise. His presentations, ranging from 10 – 20+ minutes, far surpass most training videos I have paid for.”

Accessible to all, without watering down the content
“Michael Murphy’s easy-to-understand presentation of InDesign’s capabilities is amazing…The InDesigner is accessible to the most novice of students, yet complex enough to amaze even the most seasoned.”

intelligent. incredible. ideal.
“Michael Murphy’s knowledge and clarity in his tutorials makes The InDesigner the best tool for working designers. I have personally referred this podcast to dozens of people to help with their education and the education of others with InDesign. I learn something new every time
“Rare to find an instructional podcast that always delivers new and useful information. I’ve been using InDesign for 5 years and this podcast still teaches me new things. Michael Murphy gives easy to understand instruction with clear examples, and he shows how to use what he’s teaching under different conditions — not just the one, made-for-show example that works only that one way. This is real-life experience useful stuff.”

Awesome!
“There really aren’t enough stars for a review of this podcast. I’m new to InDesign and thought I was moving along quite well…these lessons have put me in the fast lane, however. After watching Episode 15, and seeing how easily many of the tasks I have been struggling with between Photoshop and Quark can be done with InDesign, I am anxious for my next creative project at work.”

Brilliant! Well thought-out, polished and relevant
“I can’t say enough about Michael Murphy’s presentations. They’re clear, easy to understand and logically presented. I found myself quickly and easily making use of the concepts taught in each of his podcasts (the content of the three episodes on nested styles is mind blowing).
Mr. Murphy is thoughtful, articulate and is well-prepared for each episode…filling them with intelligent, comprehensive and relevant instruction.”

Again, allow me to say WOW!
Unless you consider yourself an InDesign expert, you’re going to learn something. And unlike some of the Photoshop podcasts I subscribe to…each InDesigner episode is going to give you something that you’ll probably be able to put into use immediately.

Taught the way it should be taught
“Michael will prove his ability to teach InDesign within the first minute of any one of his podcasts. I especially like the fast pace, which is the way I like to learn. If you consider yourself a “knowledgable user” it will take many of your intermediate skills to an advanced level.”

Just what I have been looking for…
“I recently inherited a company newsletter and have been diligently working to come to grips with InDesign. These tutorials are perfect. They are concise, yet give real world explanations on how to handle design and setup. Great teacher and great subject matter that I highly recommend to anyone trying to learn, or get better with, InDesign.”

Absolutely spot on
“Looking for advice on InDesign without having to wade through reams of text pitched too low or too high was beginning to look like a fool’s task until I came across the InDesigner. I got so much out of these podcasts that I would recommend them to anyone interested in using this software — never treated like an idiot, never left confused by an explanation. Wish there were more podcasts of this quality…”

Indespensable InDesign Resource
“I’m familiar with Illustrator and Photoshop, but I wanted to learn more about InDesign. I came to the right place with Michael Murphy’s informative and engaging podcast. His style is laid back, but to the point. With each video he shares more tips, tricks, and shortcuts to get you to be as efficient as he appears to be. His years of experience and learning the hard way underscore the very practical, time-saving methods discussed.”

The Best
“Every time I watch one of his podcasts, I am just floored with how much I learned, how thorough and great an instructor Michael Is, and how really helpful and amazing this whole feature is. It really doesn’t get better than this.”

Experience Shines
“Michael does a wonderful job in thoroughly explaining both well-known and more obscure features of Adobe’s InDesign. Having worked with page-layout applications for well over a decade, many of the concepts he discusses are familiar to me. Nevertheless, seeing how other designers work with the application inspires ideas. Also, Michael’s experience shows and I’d highly recommend this podcast to every user of InDesign, whether you’re a rookie or a well-weathered DTPer. Keep up the good work, Michael and I hope you can produce the podcasts even more frequently.”

Teaches practical tips and tricks
“This podcast offers something those manuals and thousand-page books on InDesign don’t: real-world examples of useful InDesign features, not just explanations. This podcast is not too technical; instead, Michael Murphy demonstrates the most practical elements of the software, and gives you step-by-step instructions on how to reach the same finished product. It inspires me to go in new directions with my page design and layout, and I would hihly recommend this to anyone, even to people who don’t have InDesign!”

An intelligent, elegant source of information!
“Many thanks to Michael for bringing us this podcast. We list it as a “must” on the Resources handout for attendees of our InDesign workshop. Clear, complete explanations — appropriate for a wide range of users. The topics are pertinent to helping streamline workflow and navigating some of InDesign’s more esoteric features.”
